I could tell you about heart disease killing a person in the U.S. every 34 seconds or the number two cause of death in the U.S. being cancer with 1.368 million Americans learning they have cancer each year and 563,700 dying, but what I would rather talk about is how to live a long, healthy, productive life minimizing the affects of disease rather than just surviving a long time.
My Grandmother, Christine Hanson, was my role model. She explored alternative medicine and was taking fish oil in the form of cod liver oil and eating home grown, organic fruits and vegetables in the sixties and seventies, long before the whole anti-aging movement really took off. She truly is my inspiration because she made common sense feel cool and lived to age 94!
Although there seems to be an overwhelming consensus regarding the tremendous quality of whole foods in MyGreenShake, there was also a consensus that the world was flat at one time. Don’t believe everything I’ve written but please do research if this subject interests you and give me any and all feedback. I am not a “raw foodist” or vegetarian but my Grandma’s common sense combined with research and anecdotal evidence tells me that eating fruits and vegetables is a great idea, although difficult to achieve for most people on a consistent basis. People can't get the 5-6 required fruit and vegetable servings per day let alone the revised numbers of 8-10 .
The one thing I can say with conviction is that the Green Shakes that my family consumes (although not green in color) daily is delicious and can be made to suit anyone’s taste preferences.
